Arrogance

I have always enjoyed getting into a discussion among friends on the topic of religion. This topic is so fascinating and i try to do my best to present Islam, but fall short because, not of Islam but because of my own actions.

Many people go to fortune tellers to find out what there future holds for them... I am also a fortune teller (joking). No, i ain't no fortune teller but i can surely make one prediction that will be 100% true for Everyone, yes thats right i can tell you one thing and the MOST important thing in your life and i can also assure you that it is 100% true... and that is You WILL DIE!

So don't worry about acquiring wealth, fame or any other worldly thing. Think about your ultimate goal that we all forget, Death. There is nothing else in this life that is as certain as death.

You don't know if you will get that job you want. You don't know if you will marry that girl you want. You don't know if you will get the car you desire. Heck you don't even know if you will take the next breathe or not. But what you do KNOW is that ONE DAY THIS LIFE WILL END as you know it.

Then your eyes will open and you will see the reality. What if someone told you that they could tell you how to protect yourself and give you a guide to this world so that when you die you will not find a surprise but rather you will be prepared?

The choice is yours... don't look at the Muslims... they don't have the answer... Go to the Source The Quran.

Chapter 2: The Cow, Verse number 2-7

2. This is the Book; in it is guidance sure, without doubt, to those who fear Allah.

3. Who believe in the Unseen, are steadfast in prayer, and spend out of what We have provided for them;

4. And who believe in the Revelation sent to thee, and sent before thy time, and (in their hearts) have the assurance of the Hereafter.

5. They are on (true) guidance, from their Lord, and it is these who will prosper.

6. As to those who reject Faith, it is the same to them whether thou warn them or do not warn them; they will not believe.

7. Allah hath set a seal on their hearts and on their hearing, and on their eyes is a veil; great is the penalty they (incur).

So will you not open your eyes? Leave your arrogance behind and sincerely educate yourself before it is too late.

You know when your parents tell you something and you know that they are right but just to be rebellious you pretend you didn't hear them or you go against them. Well most people are like that when it comes to religion not because that they don't understand but because of human nature of ignorance and arrogance they will not follow the truth.

I will try to get more regular with my post...inshallah.

When will Bush or Olmert be hanged?

So Suddam is being hanged to death for killings of dozens of people in Iraq. If this is the decision of the court and they have found him guilty of this charge then he should be hanged, but if he is wronged and the process was not fair then the people who wronged him will pay on the day of Judgment.

Now i am wondering when will Bush be charged and hanged for the death of THOUSANDS of Iraqis? As the western world rejoices the death sentence of Suddam I weep due to hiporacy of this world. We have a mass murderer running free in our own back yard... yet we don't do anything about it... Power for the rich and powerfull... we have saying in urdu "Jis ki Latti Uski Bhains" "Who ever owns the stick owns the cow" meaning who ever has the gun makes the rules... very disturbing...

And who will charge Israeli Primeminister Olmert? Did we forget the mass murder of Lebonanese this summer? ooo but it was retaliation... and as our DUMBASS prime minister Harper puts it "it was MEASURED response".... Measured Reponse??? So Hezbullah kidnaps 2 Soldiers so that they can use them to get their Prisoners from Isrealis and Israel ATTACKS LEBONAN and kills MORE than 600 CIVILLIANS... MEASURED Response??? well ofcourse it was measured response because the blood of the Muslims was spilled... and 600 is Just a number... we forget the that its not just a number it HUMAN LIFE... ooo but how will the Israelis know that... they think their life is more valuable then anyone elses on this planet...

Children of Lebonan... don't weep because Allah is ever watchfull and remember this world is for them while the Akhira is for the believers as Allah promised... so stay on the right path and stay strong and united...

If I lay here...

We'll do it all everything, on our own
We don't need anything, or anyone
If I lay here, If I just lay here
Would you lie with me
And just forget the world
I don't quite know how to say how I feel
Those three words are said too much
Ther're not enough

If I lay here, If I just lay here
Would you lie with me
And just forget the world
Forget what you're told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden
That's bursting into life
Let's waste time chasing cars
Around our heads
I need your grace to remind me
To find my own

If I lay here, If I just lay here
Would you lie with me
And just forget the world
Forget what your're told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden
That's bursting into life
All that I am, all that I ever was
Is here in your perfect eyes
They're all I can see, I don't know where
Confused about how as well
Just know that these things will never
Change for us at all

If I lay here, If I just lay here
Would you lie with me
And just forget the world

Algonquin Park Trip

Drive about 4 hours North of Toronto aprox 300 Km and you will reach Algonquin National Park. Go to a canoe rental shop. Get your canoe, paddles, tents and anything else you need. Drive to the access point... Park your car unload the canoes and your gear from the car. Park the canoe in the lake... load it with your gear and enter into the beauty of the wilderness... let the journey of a life time begin...

First you paddle your way to the end of your first lake. This could take you a wile depending on how big the lake is... Typically it takes us about an hour... once you reach the end you unload the canoe and take the canoe on your head and walk for about 700 m until you get to the next lake you put your canoe on the side and go back to pick up your gear... now u park the canoe and load it and go for another hour to cross this lake... Now you keep doing this until you get to the lake you want to... Once you are on your lake you find a nice camp site...

Dock your canoe... unload it... make sure you tie your canoe... better yet just bring it on land and put it upside down...

Set up your tents and you are ready for your weekend get away...

Now if you really want to have fun... you pack up all your gear the next morning and move to another lake...

I can't wait to be sitting on a rock by the lake looking at the stars...

Surah 74. The Cloaked One, The Man Wearing A Cloak

1. O thou wrapped up (in the mantle)!
2. Arise and deliver thy warning!
3. And thy Lord do thou magnify!
4. And thy garments keep free from stain!
5. And all abomination shun!
6. Nor expect, in giving, any increase (for thyself)!
7. But, for thy Lord's (Cause), be patient and constant!
8. Finally, when the Trumpet is sounded,
9. That will be- that Day - a Day of Distress,-
10. Far from easy for those without Faith.
11. Leave Me alone, (to deal) with the (creature) whom I created (bare and) alone!-
12. To whom I granted resources in abundance,
13. And sons to be by his side!-
14. To whom I made (life) smooth and comfortable!
15. Yet is he greedy-that I should add (yet more);-
16. By no means! For to Our Signs he has been refractory!
17. Soon will I visit him with a mount of calamities!
18. For he thought and he plotted;-
19. And woe to him! How he plotted!-
20. Yea, Woe to him; How he plotted!-
21. Then he looked round;
22. Then he frowned and he scowled;
23. Then he turned back and was haughty;
24. Then said he: "This is nothing but magic, derived from of old;
25. "This is nothing but the word of a mortal!"
26. Soon will I cast him into Hell-Fire!
27. And what will explain to thee what Hell-Fire is?
28. Naught doth it permit to endure, and naught doth it leave alone!-
29. Darkening and changing the colour of man!
30. Over it are Nineteen.
31. And We have set none but angels as Guardians of the Fire; and We have fixed their number only as a trial for Unbelievers,- in order that the People of the Book may arrive at certainty, and the Believers may increase in Faith,- and that no doubts may be left for the People of the Book and the Believers, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the Unbelievers may say, "What symbol doth Allah intend by this ?" Thus doth Allah leave to stray whom He pleaseth, and guide whom He pleaseth: and none can know the forces of thy Lord, except He and this is no other than a warning to mankind.
32. Nay, verily: By the Moon,
33. And by the Night as it retreateth,
34. And by the Dawn as it shineth forth,-
35. This is but one of the mighty (portents),
36. A warning to mankind,-
37. To any of you that chooses to press forward, or to follow behind;-
38. Every soul will be (held) in pledge for its deeds.
39. Except the Companions of the Right Hand.
40. (They will be) in Gardens (of Delight): they will question each other,
41. And (ask) of the Sinners:
42. "What led you into Hell Fire?"
43. They will say: "We were not of those who prayed;
44. "Nor were we of those who fed the indigent;
45. "But we used to talk vanities with vain talkers;
46. "And we used to deny the Day of Judgment,
47. "Until there came to us (the Hour) that is certain."
48. Then will no intercession of (any) intercessors profit them.
49. Then what is the matter with them that they turn away from admonition?-
50. As if they were affrighted asses,
51. Fleeing from a lion!
52. Forsooth, each one of them wants to be given scrolls (of revelation) spread out!
53. By no means! But they fear not the Hereafter,
54. Nay, this surely is an admonition:
55. Let any who will, keep it in remembrance!
56. But none will keep it in remembrance except as Allah wills: He is the Lord of Righteousness, and the Lord of Forgiveness.

Re: my last post

Think about this one and open your eyes to see whats going on around our world.

N. Korea tests a missile and the self proclaimed SUPER POWERS of this world are going to take some action against N. Korea... i am not going get into how its bad to have nuclear weapons etc. Because who decides who can have Nuclear weapons. As far as i know the ONLY country to actually use a NUCLEAR weapon is the US and ironically thats the country thats still has the most warheads in the world and the biggest weapons staches.

Now N. Korea didn't bomb anyone they are just testing. BUT ISREAL has acctually went into refugee camps and started KILLING people and yet these same people are silent and watching. Does anyone see the double standards?

The imediate danger is not N. Korea its Isreal. Yet we are willing to take actions and speak out against N. Korea... Why? I am not trying to defend N. Korea. I am trying to put things in prespective with respect to Israel... They can do all the horible things and get aways with it. They can kill and hold Palestinian kids in jails and NO ONE will take any action against them. WHY?

Its alright for us to use our fast and deadly missiles to KILL Palestinians But if you (N. Korea) are about to just test a faster missile you are DANGEROUS and we MUST GET RID OF YOU IMEDIATELY...

Wake up and THINK... ACT...

Social Justice

What does it mean? What is social justice? Is it my responsiblity to ensure social justice? What if there are crimes against humanity; do i just sit and watch? or do i take steps and try to rid the world of unjustices?

Questions I ask... Islam answers: If you see somthing bad, change is with your hand (physically make the change), if you can't do that then change it with your word (speak out against it), if you can't do that then feel in your heart that this is bad and needs to be changed.

Strugles of Life

Have you ever fought on someone's behalf but still come out as the bad guy? Why can't people think the best of you? Why do we have egos?

Bieng confident is good but haveing a huge ego is different. Why do you have an ego when you are not in control of anything in your life? You might think you are... But really are you?

I don't think so. Everything is governed by The One's Law the creater's Law. He created and he can destroy. He gives life and can take it away. He is the most High the only One. His signs are all around us. Look at the Sun, the Moon, the Earth, how everything operates within its own orbit. How the whole universe is orbiting and ever expanding. The Quran tells us about these things and many more. It is a guidence for those who hear, listen, understand and comply.

Professional Procrastinator

Mastering the art of procrastinating is not an easy task; it takes many years of practice and hard work. It even takes repeating some classes, only and only then you can be considered in the elite rleam of Professional Procrastinators.

If you follow the following steps you will reach my profesional level at no time...

1) Don't look at your exam schedule... wait for your friends to tell you when your exam is.
2) If they don't remind you then you my friend have an excuse that you didn't know when the exam was... tell that to your prof.
(((((( true story: I HONESTLY forgot about one of my exams for MEC222. After the exam was done my friend called and asked me how i did on the exam to which i replied what exam? As soon as i found out i had an exam, i went to my prof's office and explained to him with all honesty that i had forgotten about the exam. I got to write a NEW EXAM....))))))
3)If you know your exam schedule... then you need to boast your ego soo much that you think you are genious and can get into MIT with no studying... That way you will be chilling all night before exam
4) Go to a library floor filled with your smart friends who love playing cards and are smart enough to study weeks ahead.
5) Buy a new toy ( like what i did was buy a new PDA ) and try to figure out every single feature of this new toy.
6) Join an online forum or a communtiy. ( the ones i use are: www.facebook.com , www.hi5.com , www.orkut.com , www.friendster.com)
7) MAKE SURE YOU ARE ALWAYS ONLINE on MSN ( I can not stress this point enough, You are a VERY IMPORTANT person who needs to stay in touch with everyone, SO MAKE SURE YOU STAY ONLINE and TALK TO EVERYONE ELSE WHO IS ONLINE )
8) Movies... thats right Download movies and watch them... becuase before you start studying... you need to have a relaxed state of mind.
9) If you are in LOVE then write poetry for that special somone...
10) Get a blog... YUP a BLOG... write about how you procrastinate... if you don't have one then go and read a BLOG...

10th floor darama...

Yes i am here... in the library... Am i studying? i think not... But its the effort that counts...

Thats right i got my behind in this cubicle. The trouble is i just can't keep still for more than a few minutes and i am in constant need to move. I know i will be freaking out in a bit but before exam inshallah i should be fine. So yea... going to be sleeping here at ryerson. Yea FUN... Damn last time i tried it... i couldn't sleep and ended up being cranky... Actually i don't get cranky... i just get tiered and get lost.

My PDA is not working properly so thats pissing me off. I can't HOT SYNC it to my computer for some reason. I don't like cell phone companies and i don't like the extended warranties either now. I bought this PDA with an extended warranty from Wireless Wave. Now if i send it for repair i have to use some CRAPY looner which is NOT data capable... ARGH!

So yea back to studying... I had my first egg-jam today... I was supouse to get up at 3AM to study but guess WHAT i didn't get up... and my back call was late :P so i went and wrote the egg-jam and i think i should pass. Alhamdulillah (Thank God) soo everyone keep praying that i pass other wise i might have to resort to some exterme measures...

YEA YEA YEA i know what you are all thinking... WHY didn't u start studying before... good point... remind me before next year egg-jams :P

Please Note:

Just so that people know, this blog is created just so that I can brain storm. I will type my thoughts here. I know these thoughts sometimes will create confusion. These thoughts will sometimes make you realize whats going on. Please don't jump to conclusion because i will just type whatever comes to my mind without any analysis or with out any organization.

So please don't take offense and don't think that i have made the same conclusion as what my blog says because after analysis of my thoughts I always come to a different conclusion than what I initially think.

The plan gone wrong

Don't you just hate it when a plan goes wrong. Well my life was well planned and it just very recently went VERY WRONG (or Changed) in many different aspects. It made me realize how limited we humans are in control of our own lives. We think we make the call... but No we don't.

We need to stop and think and evaluate our life from time to time and keep a check on where we are heading. Its good to plan and to know where you are heading but remember things don't always work out the way you want them to work out. Every once in a while you get a curve ball from nature and before you know it your life is compeletely cahnged. You loose focus, you don't know what you are doing. You get into the unknown territory of just blankness. But still in that blankness there is something that you have faith in and thats what holds your hand and helps you pass through this but if you have no one you get lost. I am glad I have faith...

PSA ski trip...

Yes I know I went with PSA... It was fun...

So this is how the day went:
1) Didn't have enough sleep.
2) People came late, so we left late.
3) Went to the Horse Shoe Valley Resort.
4) The bunny hill lift had a huge line.
5) Went on the bunny hill once and the rest of the day at Big Hills.
6) Alhamdulillah (Thank God) didn't fall all day, so no broken bones :)
7) Witnessed many people in painful falls.
8) Cut myslef while helping a person put their ski's on a rack.
9) Left on time... well almost.
10) Reached Ryerson at about 8:45
11) One person was in pain... i mean in real pain so couldn't even move.
12) Then decided to leave for dinner at Doner King.
13) Went there I sat down and got a call from mom to get home early.
14) I left right away... on my way I met a friend and got a ride.
15) I went back to Doner to grab somthing to eat and left.
16) Reached home at 11 PM
17) I am dead tierd...
18) Going to Sleep :)

Note: This can be made a lot more interesting if i was not tiered right now...

Power, Money, Fame

The three things that corrupt the heart the most and can take you away from God. The creator is the Most merciful and Most Gracious, He gives to whom ever he wishes and takes it away from whom ever he wishes. He is the most Just. I only pray that his mercy will overshadow his justice on the day of reckoning when all that exists will have to answer to him and give account of their life.

Power, money and fame can all be related to each other but not always. If you have fame it doesn't mean that you will have money as well or if you have money its not always true that you will have power. Before I go on keep in mind the power I am talking about is only within the human bounds, because we all know that no one except God holds true power. If anyone thinks they have power they are mistaken. We humans don't even decide our fate; how many times it happened to you that you planned to do something and it never happened? Or did you decide what family were you going to be born in? Or can you guarantee that you will be alive after you are done reading this?

That was a little thought on real power that we all need to realize. Now the power that some people think they have, its just an illusion. The money can't help them unless they spend it for the right cause. The fame is only a one minute thing. Then what's the big deal???

Why do people start acting weird when they get power, money or fame? I guess that I will have to wonder since I have none of them or do I? I was just elected to be the President of Ryerson Students' Union. People have been asking me what am I going to do with my new found power.

And that's why I am writing this blog, just to think about what is it that I have. I have been warned not to let it go to my head. But I don't have anything that can go to my head. The fame I already had, the power I already had, money I didn't. And what ever I had or have is given by Allah and can be taken away in the split of a second.

Now the question comes of it going to my head and how have I dealt with it in the past. I honestly don't know. I don't want to change or act differently but the question I ponder is that do I? Have I been acting all powerful and egoistic? I hope not.

I will have to stop here... because this is the third time this damn thing eat my post. i will continue once i am done cleaning my room

Saturday night hockey

It is 2:38 AM on Saturday night and I just got back from friends house. Today was a lazy day, I didn't accomplish much. I heard a great news. I was stressed about something and thank God that my fear is gone astray.

So in the evening a couple of my friends decided to meet up, I took my brothers along and we met at Apna Pizza in Mississauga. We had dinner Shakir paid for it. Then we went to Shakir's place and watched the dunk contest. Close to 11 PM my brothers left for home and the other friends also departed while me, Shakir and his brother Shoaib left for hockey in Brampton.

If you already don't know, I love sports. I can play almost any sport there is... but not good at any. I use to be above average at most sports at various times, depends on what sport I have been playing lately. So yea I use to play hockey and today after about a year I went back to play hockey. These guys are all very competitive they all play in leagues... I don't.

So when I started my first shift I fell bad and hurt my knees and elbow, but didn't let that stop me and scored a goal in that shift. My next shift I got hit on my shin by a hockey stick while trying to score... made a great play from behind the net and got an assist. That was all the injury I could handle and I had lost my breath, it felt like I was about to cough blood. There I realized how much I need to get back to the gym. Since I started working on my election campaign I didn't go to the gym. So yea I stopped and went to play Golf with Shakir.

Now I am not a big fan of golf but I don't mind it, last time I played golf was at a driving range last summer. After a few hits I got the hang of golf again. So yea there I made fun of Shakir because he likes golf and I say its a sissy sport. I told him next time when ever I get injured from hockey I will come and join him at the driving range.

So here I am... with a hurt shin and banged up knees. I love hockey. I am also waiting for a call...

The life goes on...

Yes the elections are done... I missed 1 quiz, 2 midterms, 3 labs, 1 term project and a WHOLE LOT of classes.

Thank God its Friday and the reading week has started. Only if I use this week wisely I will be able to catch up other wise I will crying at the time of exams. My past experience teaches me that I might have to cry. But it does not mean that I don't intend on changing that.

I have been getting calls from all over the place congratulating me for the election victory. The victory had nothing to do with me.

The victory was given by Allah, it is due to His power and mercy that I became the president. After Allah it was the people who supported me and actually did the work. I would love to name them but I know I will forget someone because there were just so many people who helped and lets not forget the people who spread the word as well as made duas and VOTED!

So yea thank you to EVERYONE.
